Well, I never… Nothing changes for decades, and then all of a sudden it does. Now it’s time for New Zealand and Australia to get on board with the new US dietary guidelines.
The ADA and Diabetes NZ have been vocally opposed to the actual evidence for a very long time.
Here’s the specific advice for chronic disease in the new guidelines:
“Individuals with certain chronic diseases may experience improved health outcomes when following a lower carbohydrate diet. Work with your health care professional to identify and adopt a diet that is appropriate for you and your health condition.”
Spot on, and long overdue.
Time to follow the evidence, not the dogma.
